Tidakkah engkau (Muhammad) perhatikan bagaimana Tuhanmu telah bertindak terhadap pasukan bergajah?925)
حواشي الترجمة *925) Pasukan yang dipimpin oleh Abrahah, Gubernur Yaman yang hendak menghancurkan Ka'bah. Sebelum masuk ke kota Mekkah, pasukan tersebut diserang burung-burung yang melemparinya dengan batu-batu kecil sehingga mereka musnah.
Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant

105:2 أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ
Bukankah Dia telah menjadikan tipu daya mereka itu sia-sia?
Did He not bring their stratagem to naught

105:3 وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
Dan Dia mengirimkan kepada mereka burung yang berbondong-bondong,
And send against them swarms of flying creatures

105:4 تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
yang melempari mereka dengan batu dari tanah liat yang dibakar,
Which pelted them with stones of baked clay

105:5 فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍۭ
sehingga mereka dijadikan-Nya seperti daun-daun yang dimakan (ulat).
And made them like green crops devoured (by cattle)
